COLLECTS AND READINGS AT HOLY COMMUNION
The following Collects, based upon those provided in The Book of Common Prayer of 1662, are to be used with the services in this book.
The Reading from the Old Testament, the Psalm, Epistle (or Reading from the New Testament) and Gospel may be taken from one of the modern lectionaries of the Church of England or another Province of the Anglican Communion. If the Epistle and Gospel are taken from the Eucharistic Lectionary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, a Reading from the Old Testament may be taken from Proper Lessons To Be Read at Morning and Evening Prayer, on the Sundays, and Other Holy-Days Throughout the Year and the Psalm from Proper Psalms on Certain Days of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer or any other approved source such as the Table of Lessons and the Table of Proper Psalms for Sundays and Holy Days of the Church of Ireland’s 1926 Book of Common Prayer.
The First Sunday in Advent

Saint Stephen’s Day (December 26th)
